PH 3.6 nouveau dériveur P.E chez Phileas
01 Nov, 2009

We wanted a small modern sailing boat for easy going fun” declared one of the people in charge of the Phileas Boats commercial team

The new Philéas dinghy, the Ph 3.60 carries on the same lines of its 2 big brothers, The Open 5.70 and The Open 5.00, designed by the Groupe Finot Conq and developed by Phileas and the young Saint-Malo Company «Alternative Rotomolding Technology».

It is the first of the new range of polyethylene rotomolded dinghies, Made in France by Phileas.

This self-draining 3.60 M dinghy is stable, equipped with a pivoting centre-board and a hinged rudder. In the standard version the Mainsail in Dacron can be rolled even during navigation; ideal for a family use and location. A jib can be easily added, and for this, the whole rigging is repositioned slightly further back. The principle public for this boat are not only the sailing schools, and clubs, but also the growing families.

The Ph 3.60 has a small roof in front, a little touch from the Open 500, a comfortable space for a team-member to sit in during light weather, the back transom is closed to reassure beginners, and the 2 piece mast is ideal for the storing.

The version to be presented at the Paris Boat Show will not be definitive, «It’s a wish" declares, Phileas Sales Manager, Philippe Gireaud " we leave the open door to all good ideas! " although the shipyard, once  again, signs a boat voluntarily off the beaten path, it certainly represents the Phileas key word : " SIMPLICITY "
